Expert industrial applications for superior results
In order to achieve an exceptional look for industrial and commercial facilities, proper surface preparation is necessary to ensure a smooth, even coating that will retain its appearance for years to come. Unfortunately, some industrial painting contractors don't place enough emphasis on this essential step.
At Raider Painting, we have worked exclusively on industrial and commercial projects for nearly 30 years. Our extensive knowledge and hands-on experience enables us to properly prepare any kind of surface for all types of coatings, with consistently superior results.
Why is surface preparation so important?
For any industrial painting project, the groundwork determines the final outcome. Hasty or sloppy surface prep will result in a substandard finished product that will begin to crack, flake, or peel away soon after completion—especially in harsh industrial environments, where durability is a vital characteristic for any coating.
An industrial painting contractor must direct a lot of effort into selecting the right coating and preparation method for the surface to be painted. This choice should be based on the needs of your specific project, whether it's an elastomeric coating for an exterior deck or a tough epoxy coating for your industrial machinery.
At Raider Painting, we have a vast range of experience with many different types of surface prep and blasting methods, including:
- Shot blasting, typically used to prepare concrete floors for sealing
- Sandblasting, which is often employed with steel or masonry surfaces
- Water blasting, used to remove contaminants and dirt from various substrates
- Diamond grinding, which utilizes diamond blades to prepare concrete surfaces by removing the top layer and leveling the area
- Floor leveling, or sloping, referring to the application of a concrete masonry product to create a new, even surface
- Hand tool prep for small, hard-to-reach areas and minor surface preparation

At Westway Feed Products, we used sandblasting techniques to prepare the interior and exterior surfaces of their massive feed tanks for coating. The interiors were sandblasted to SSPC-SP10 requirements in preparation for a specialized Dura Plate coating. For the exteriors, sandblasting was employed to reach SSPC-SP6 standards and prep for an epoxy coating with a UV-protective polyurethane top coat.
We blasted the interior and exterior surfaces of the compressed air tanks at Vandenburg Air Force Base, using various blasting techniques to extensively prep the surfaces for maximum adhesion and durability.
Depend on the pros for all your industrial painting needs.
At Raider Painting, our attention to detail, including proper surface preparation, ensures that all of our industrial and commercial projects meet our rigorous quality standards to deliver superior results for your facility.
