For the historic Pacific Parks Amusement Park on the Santa Monica Pier, we provided extensive services as part of a year-round maintenance program for this amusement park, located in one of the world’s most corrosive environments.
We coated the crane at the end of the pier with a durable epoxy coating, adding a polyurethane top coat to protect the coating from constant exposure to harmful UV rays. During the process, we encapsulated the crane to avoid contaminating the environment.
In the amusement park itself, we applied phenolic epoxy and polyurethane top coatings to various structures throughout the park to protect them from the sun and harsh salt water. We also blasted and coated the steel structural ride supports beneath the pier and between the pilons. We used full encapsulation for this process, and bolted scaffolding to the underside of the pier to ensure safe access for our crews.
