At Raider Painting, we take safety seriously. Our philosophy is to incorporate safety from the ground up, giving our crews the tools they need to be successful. We implement comprehensive safety practices and procedures into every project as a means of protecting our crews, our clients, the job site, and any traffic in the areas we work around.

Full compliance and a stellar record

We're pleased to have maintained an excellent safety record during our nearly 30 years in the commercial and industrial painting business, with a low ex-mod rate that currently stands at 0.77.

Raider is fully OSHA compliant, with a written injury and illness prevention plan that is reviewed and revised every year, in both English and Spanish. We also keep proper OSHA safety logs and provide our employees with a written drug and alcohol policy to maintain a drug-free workplace.

Comprehensive safety training

All of our professional painters receive 10- and 30-hour OSHA training. In addition, we train our crews thoroughly in these areas and more:

• Confined space entry
• Aerial work platform (AWP) training, including ANSI A92.5 and A92.6, and AWP Operator for boom and scissors
• Fall protection safety
• Swing stage safety

For every project, we hold on-site daily safety checks and weekly tailgate safety meetings to ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed and to address any potential areas of concern.

See our work in action

As part of our comprehensive corrosion control and 10+ year maintenance program for the historic Pacific Parks Amusement Park at Santa Monica Pier, we provided steel structural coatings for the ride supports beneath the pier and between pilons.

To ensure the safety of our crews on this precarious project, we bolted scaffolding to the pier's underside. We also employed extensive safety measures, such as body harnesses and full encapsulation, to prevent contamination of the environment.
