Wallcovering and decorative finishes

Vinyl, foil, fabric-backed, and acoustical wallcovering, hung straight and seamed right, plus artistic and decorative finishes for lobbies, hallways, and the rooms that make an impression.

Overview

Wallcovering hung right the first time

Wallcovering is where a lobby, a hallway, or a boardroom gets its character. It also hides minor surface flaws and takes more wear than paint. The material is expensive, so the install has to be right the first time: a sound wall underneath, every drop aligned, and seams that don’t show.

Decorative and artistic finishes

Where paint is the finish, it can still do more than one color. Textured, glazed, and faux finishes, accent walls, and hand-applied decorative work for lobbies, hospitality, and historic interiors. Our painters do the artistic work as part of the same project as the walls around it.

How a wallcovering job runs

  • Walkthrough: we look at the walls, the existing covering, and how the room is used, and talk through the material you have in mind.
  • Written estimate: scope, prep, materials, schedule, and price in writing.
  • Removal and prep: old covering stripped, adhesive removed, walls patched and smoothed, and primed with a wallcovering primer. A bad wall shows through anything.
  • Installation: drops cut, matched, and hung in order, seams rolled, edges trimmed clean.
  • Final walkthrough: we check alignment, seams, and edges with you before we call it done.

Where it goes

Foyers and hallways are the usual places, since they’re public and high-traffic and the covering holds up to it. Also boardrooms, hotel corridors and guest rooms, restaurants, medical offices, and any wall that has to impress a client.

FAQ

Common questions

More FAQs
Do you remove the old wallcovering?

Yes. Stripping the old covering and adhesive and repairing the wall is part of every install. Covering over an old one leads to peeling and seams that show.

Which wallcovering holds up in a busy hallway?

Fabric-backed vinyl. It takes carts, scuffs, and cleaning better than paper-backed types, and it’s the standard for corridors, hospitals, and hotels.

Can you do a mural or a faux finish instead?

Yes. Our painters do textured, glazed, and faux finishes and hand-applied decorative work, and we install mural and large-pattern wallcoverings.

Can you install while the office is open?

Yes. Wallcovering goes up one area at a time, usually nights or weekends in occupied buildings, and the adhesives we use are low odor.
