Floor striping and safety markings
Warehouse line painting, color coding, and directional markings that keep people, forklifts, and product moving the right way.
Overview
Floor markings people follow
Floor markings tell people where to walk, where to drive, and where not to stand, without taking up any floor space. A sign on the wall gets missed. A line on the floor is right where people look. Clear lines also make it easier to keep aisles open and the facility organized.
What we mark
Aisles and forklift lanes, pedestrian walkways, and the keep-out areas around electrical panels and heavy machinery. Spots for PPE, inventory, and parked forklifts. Arrows, words, and symbols that show which way to go. We also mark stairs, lobbies, service areas, and parking decks.
OSHA and color coding
OSHA requires permanent aisles and passageways to be marked and kept clear. Lines should be at least 2 inches wide so they’re easy to see, and many facilities go wider. At Labeltech we put down 173 linear feet of 6-inch striping in safety yellow epoxy.
Color tells people what kind of hazard they’re looking at. Red is for fire equipment and danger. Yellow is for caution: trip, fall, and strike hazards. We mark to your facility’s color plan.
Markings that last
Warehouse line painting done with ordinary paint wears off fast under forklift tires. We use epoxy and polyurethane. Both hold up to traffic, and outdoors they also hold up to rain and UV. At Cummins we put down safety yellow epoxy markings with a polyurethane topcoat, so the color holds up under the plant’s lighting.
Markings matter in public spaces too. In hospitals, malls, and stadiums, they guide visitors who don’t know the building, so they have to be clear at a glance.
If we’re coating the floor, the striping goes down at the end of the same job. On an existing floor, we prep the line areas first so the markings bond.

What are the OSHA floor marking requirements?
OSHA requires permanent aisles and passageways to be marked, kept clear, and kept in good condition. Lines should be at least 2 inches wide, and color follows a standard code: red for fire and danger, yellow for caution. We lay out the markings with your safety team.
Can you restripe a warehouse without coating the whole floor?
Yes. We prep the worn lines and put down new epoxy markings at night or on weekends, so the warehouse keeps running.
Do you stripe parking decks?
Yes. We coat parking decks and put down new striping, as we did in a CBRE-managed garage at Wilshire Landmark.
